Bravo entered the Knoxville market to challenge the industry leader Olive
Garden with service and quality Italian style meals. We originally
ranked the two neck to neck but as we aged, so did the restaurants.
Olive Garden continued touting itself for family and friends as Bravo separated
itself to comfort the market and alter the menu to meet today's consumption.
Bravo's atmosphere is comfortably decorated with columns, huge Italian
style chandeliers, large wall with wine racks and artwork. The restaurant
has an open-floor plan with mainly white table-clothed tables for dining
and white paper for those guests that might get a little messy. Service
is generally fair. Based on the visits to the restaurant, some slow
service has been encountered but most are genuine and helpful.
While initially challenging Olive Garden on our 5-point scale, OG still has a wide advantage but Bravo is a good alternative. Olive Garden (OG) has a more festive, yet family oriented atmosphere with fair to good service. Bravo has a more sophisticated upscale atmosphere with decent service. At OG, all meals are served with garlic bread sticks and a bottomless salad bowl. I might add that the OG Salad is considered some of the best!! Bravo has soupy salads which cost a lot extra and Bravo lacks those tasty garlic breadsticks. Bravo is a good restaurant which no doubt will try to meet expectations provided you can't get into Olive Garden or even Carrabba's. Bravo is also very open to preparing items that may no longer be on the current menu. If you have a past favorite, ask for it!! Our third best....Bravo! |
