Back in late 2002 or early 2003 Oak Ridge’s most patronized Mexican Restaurant, El Arriero split, it is not clear what the conflict may have been
but sides were split and the competition was fierce, El Arriero has since ceased to exist and El Cantarito has continued to exist with the Oak
Ridge location as well as a new location in Harriman. Given and ethnical restaurant that has survived as long as El Cantarito has been in Oak
Ridge, the food and restaurant quality must be living up to expectations. Based on our contact with patrons, El Cantarito is serving up the right
dished at the right quality. Individuals eating here tend to have a biased opinion of the competition which has resulted in the former El Arriero
shutterings it’s doors. Our last review of this restaurant is very dated but back then we found everything to be equal to average of El Arriero
and found no conflict with either restaurant.
