| The American Cafe (always known locally as Silver Spoon) is owned and operated by Specialty Restaurant Group, which has had little success in operating it's restaurants (other than Silver Spoon) in East Tennessee. Silver Spoon has always had an exceptional variety of menu items. However, bothered with the bottom line, prices are high and quality has suffered. Our last review is dated, management and the over all direction of the establishment might have changed since our visit. The last visit to the American Cafe displayed unattentive staff, poorly groomed/dressed wait staff, slow service (at a non-peak hour) and lower quality food products. The last in house review of this restaurant was in 2003. That review was bad enough that we have not returned. Then again, who would return to a restaurant that you really didnt like. We will! It is fair to say that we have had some complaints about our low rating of the restaurant. A future visit is in order. But until then .......... |
