6838 Chapman Highway, Knoxville, Tennessee
Bunt & Helen King began serving Iowa grain fed beef at Ye Olde Steakhouse in 1968. Today, their children carry on. The original business was
partially destroyed by fire and the restaurant temporarily relocated to the L & N Depot in downtown Knoxville, but the business is back at it’s
original South Knoxville location. The atmosphere has changed a bit and a lot of the original character of the restaurant was lost in the
reconstruction process. That being said, the food apparently has kept it’s flavor. Meat cuts are made daily by hand and the restaurant accepts
requests for special cuts. All cuts are grilled to order but the restaurant refuses to guarantee a well done steak. You will also find poultry and fish
on the menu and some items are seasonal. According to their website, due to being located in a dry country, wine & liquor is not available but the
restaurant allows you to bring your own for a fee. The beverage menu includes juices and mixers as well as tea, coffee and Coca-Cola Products.
A select amount of beers are available.
Ye Olde Steakhouse is a family owned business and strives to meet the needs of their customers. The steakhouse visit is generally a special
occasion visit and the restaurant offers free reservations to its customers. The restaurant has been featured on the Travel Channel and is listed
as #47 on the SEC Bucket List.
